Auckland Transport has recently extended the roadside wooden rails along Seaview Road to the Domain entrance. This means the whole stretch of road from just below the library to Little Lion Rock conrer is safe for pedestrians and parking is excluded.

This was the original intention of the safe walking project but for some reason when the barriers were installed they stopped short of the Domain, forcing people to walk on the road.

The Piha Ratepayers and Residents has successfully lobbied to get the work done and AT consulted with locals who supported the idea.
