Piha surfer Gaby Sansom earned a wildcard by winning the New Zealand open enabling her to compete in a world surfing women’s event at New Plymouth tomorrow. Only 15-years-old, Gaby decided at the last moment to enter the open women’s section. Gaby will join Paige Hareb and Sarah Mason at New Plymouth’s Fitzroy Beach on Wednesday, the first time New Zealand has had three entries in the 18-strong field at this event.
