The Post Office has huge community support and the locals have rallied to save it on more than one occasion.  Recently, the sale of the land under it by Telecom to the Piha Cafe, meant the need to relocate. Eventually, the building was shifted across the road onto the Domain and the indefatigable president, Keith Franich, raised the funds and organised the volunteers to renovate the building and its surroundings.
