Sandra Coney, Zeke Wolf, Sheena von Bassewitz and Monique Olivier take a breather at the end of the two kilometre march

A small, select but cheery group of Piha people joined the protests today (10 March) against the redundancies of nearly 300 ports workers. Sandra Coney, Monique Olivier, Sheena von Bassewitz and Zeke Wolf joined around 10,000 people who marched from Britomart to Teal Park calling for the reinstatement of ports’ workers, resumed negotiations between the union and port company, and for the Auckland Council to take responsibility for the treatment of workers in the wholly Council owned company.
