Gorgeous view of Pararaha taken on Saturday’s epic walk from Karekare and back over Zion Hill. A doodle possibly for the young ones, but a bit taxing with the vertical Buck Taylor Track. Impossible to contemplate cooking dinner after that, so settled for a fantastic meal at the Bowler (char-grilled Terakihi on salad with green beans, walnuts and cockles – the previous night at Razza, panfried Terakihi on rocket, pear and blue cheese salad – we are so lucky!).

The view shows Pararaha Point and dune lakes just before turning inland and that tough climb.
