With the centenary of WW1 starting in 2014, local communities are being encouraged to research the lives of the names on local cenotaphs and Rolls of Honour. This talk will draw on Sandra Coney’s work researching the life stories of the 49 men listed on the Roll of Honour on Lion Rock, Piha. Sandra will describe how she went about her own research and what she has learned, helping others gain the skills and identify the resources to do similar research. A research template will be made available to participants.
