Auckland Council’s Recovery Office has just released its geotech GHD report which has done the background work behind the categorising of properties affected by Cyclone Gabrielle. It contains some very interesting maps of landslides at Pha and Karekare, showing the head of the slips and the zone of accumulation where debris has gathered. It shows both slips that have affected dwellings and those that are just land.

It also shows evidence of old slips and areas of debris in the sea. Amongst many other interesting features it show how far up into the hills the slip at the Marawhara went.
