Welcome to Jimmy Boswell who has recently moved into Lone Kauri Road, Karekare. He’s travelled and cooked internationally and is a specialist in gluten-free food products and recipe development being a noted chef in this field.
For those of you who don’t know, gluten-free means avoiding wheat products, so when Jimmy cooks up his pastas and other dishes, he used other flours, such as rice flour, providing delicious food for the wheat sensitive.
Jimmy entertained us Friday Jam Night at the Bowler on the harmonica, and he was a pleasure to hear, but he’s also recently published a recipe book with a range of recipes for people who are looking for a gluten-free diet.
From October he’ll be cooking every second Friday of the month (till March 2013) at the Bowler, specialising in Sicilian/Italian/Kiwi dishes, both meat dishes and vegetarian.
