A fire started in the outside smoking area of the Piha RSA last night – 26 December 2024 – and damaged the west end of the building. It was first seen from the camping ground about 11.45 pm. Numerous calls went into the fire service and five fire trucks attended and soon had the fire under control. The RSA is now closed. The extent of damage is not yet reported.
