Commissioner Les Simmons has granted a non-notified consent to Preserve Piha Ltd to allow work on the Piha Cafe involving building additions, carpark resurfacing, and consumption of alcohol.
These were granted for a number of reasons including that the consents would not materially increase or noticeably alter the scale or nature of the activity, increase the hours of operation, or compromise or undermine existing conditions of consent.
The cafe still has to apply for a Liquor Licence before it can serve alcohol and this will be notified, enabling submissions to be made.
