A big hard wrestler, nicknamed “The Grap”, short for Grappler. Wrestled with Dad. Married the beautiful Barbara. Was a great asset to the sporting prowess of the Piha Surf Club and especially the boat crew. Hadyn fell out with people. Had a big row in Piha Surf Club and went off to North Piha with his talented son, Peter. Used to go fishing in Doc Finlay’s Hazel Irene. Then got his own boat, The Harmony, the name an ironic reference to all the rows. He and Barbara had a curved front roughcast place up Seaview Road.
