Over $50,000 has been raised for the widow of Tran Duy Quyen, the Vietnamese fisherman who drowned at Piha on 9 January.

His body was found several days later at North Piha. After cremation, has widow intends taking his ashes back to Viet Nam. Husband and wife were in New Zealand on work visas and have children aged 3 and 5 living with their grandparents back in Vietnam.
