Every summer the Waitakere Ranges Local Board employs a summer ranger for Piha, and a second for Te Henga.
This summer the Piha ranger is Tom Greer. He is a biology and statistics graduate with a background in the arts and sciences. He lives in Auckland, but knows Piha well.
The Council also has a general parks summer ranger who is Madeleine Powers. She will also be spending some time at Piha during the busy summer period.
Both rangers have met with the Regional Parks Rangers at Piha and will be working with them through the summer.
Tom works Thursday- Monday (Tues and Wed off) and Madeleine works weekdays.
