Piha’s Melanie Reid scooped the pool of prestigious investigative journalism awards at the NZ television Awards with “The Eye of the Storm”, her investigation of the treatment of claimant Bronwyn Pullar by ACC and the Corporation’s breaches of privacy rules.
Melanie was awarded two top awards: the Journalist of the Year for her TV3 60 Minutes programmme and also Investigation of the Year.
TV3 also won Best Current Affairs for 60 Minutes.
Also winning awards was Piha’s Mark Mitchinson who won Best Actor for his role in Seige, the docudrama about Jan Molenaar.
