Media Release ” 18 January 2012
The Piha Community Sport and Recreation Club’s proposed new sport and recreation centre can proceed to design and consent stage following a Waitakere Ranges Local Board decision to fund $50,000 for design and resource consent preparation costs for the project.
Co-chairmen of the club’s steering committee Larry Gibson and Ross Pownall say the board’s generous contribution will enable the project to progress through to resource consent stage.
We are grateful to the board for supporting the centre, which will be built on vacant land between the two existing facilities on the Piha Domain.
Board Chair Denise Yates says the board is pleased to support the centre, which will be a great new amenity for the Piha area.
The club is now calling for expressions of interest from local consultants interested in providing acoustic, traffic, landscaping, geotechnical, and fire services for the initial stage.
Interested parties can register their interest by contacting the club at C.M. Box 11, Piha,Auckland0646 by 20 February 2012.
