Three trampers missing overnight near Piha, west of Auckland, have been found.
The trio became separated from their walking group yesterday and were only dressed in summer clothing.
Senior sergeant Matt Rogers of the northern police communications centre said a rescue helicopter was sent up to look for the group around 9pm, when the group they were tramping with realised they were missing.
“There was a group of 11 trampers out, and somehow these three managed to get separated from the back,” he said.
Search and rescue teams found the trampers, who were well, about 7am
