The dunes on the South end of Piha Beach South have been cleared of weeds, and have been shaped to allow for adequate accessways onto the beach. Hoperfully they will be fenced with posts and a single rope by the end of next week. In any case, we will plant on Sunday July 10th.
This is a great all-age activity. It’s very easy work with quick results!
Date: Sunday July 10th (Sunday week)
Meet: On the Beach at the South end of Piha Beach
Time: Between 9am and 12 midday. Come when you can and stay for as much or as little time as you have available.
Bring: Suitable footwear, gardening gloves, wind/waterproof jacket. Also useful is a bucket, a small container for fertilizer pellets and a spade, especially one with a long narrow blade.
If you don’t have a spade, don’t worry. We will have lots available and there are plenty of jobs that don’t involve digging.
We have 4000 plants to put in, which is about twice the number we have usually planted in a morning, so please bring your friends and family.
Hoping to see lots of you on Sunday week
