I think when I tell people I enjoy cutting gorse on the family property they think I’m a bit cracked. Part of the reason I love it is the chance to get into the wild elemental glory of Piha, away from people, the city, phones/computers/email etc. Here’s a photo I took tonight as I was signing off from gorse cutting and on my way back home for a hot shower and to cook a delicious meal – Guisano Gitado – a Spanish Gypsy pork stew.
